Tasting Notes:

Pale straw, bright colour. Zesty and lively wine with aromas of white peach, honey, white rose petal and lemon. The early picked wines of 2013 show wonderful varietal expression. Flavours of white peach, lemon and cumquat are all evident on the front to mid palate. The wine is restrained and light in structure and is made for early drinking.

Technical:

Gemtree Vineyards producers of this lovely Savagnin have been farming biodynamically since 2007 and gained full organic certification in 2011. The 2012 -2013 growing season commenced with wonderful winter rains and with McLaren Vale, reached its annual rainfall by the end of July. Spring was dry. Crop levels were low to moderate. Engine room was big, the functionality of the vine got peak which encourages an early ripening. Picking commenced with full flavour maturity and wonderful natural acidity. One of the quickest vintages ever seen.
