Tasting Notes:

Subtle pear and nectarine aromas are enriched by spicy apple and ginger. Made in a dry style this wine has a lovely, creamy texture with fine tannins and beautifully balanced acidity that maximises your palate pleasure.

Lees aging has helped to give this wine delicious flavours of peach and spicy apple with hints of caramelised fig and toasty oak.

Technical:

The clear, free run juice was taken to a stainless steel tank to be fermented over 3 weeks and left to sit on yeast lees for 3 months. The deeply coloured pressed juice was transferred to barrels to undergo a wild ferment and a partial secondary Malo-Lactic fermentation. This made up 15% of the final blend.

Accolades & Awards:

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit – 90 points 4.5 stars
It's filled with attractive fruit aromas on the nose – peach, tropical fruit, citrus and pear – together with a juicy palate that shows wonderful intensity and vibrancy. The wine is off-dry and beautifully balanced by the refreshing acidity. Friendly and immediately appealing. Now to 2016.

Bob Campbell MW – 88 points 4 stars

Rich, creamy wine in a medium/dry style. I love the silken texture and very subtle suggestion of ripe and drying tannins. Pear, spicy apple and attractive nutty yeast lees flavours. Classy Pinot Gris with character.
