3 STARS WINESTATE MAGAZINE MAY/JUNE 2012
A delicate pale green blush. Lovely soft aromas of pear and rose petals. This wine has a great textural quality in the mouth with attractive fresh flavours of nectarine, nashi pear and crème caramel with almost flinty mineral notes and well-balanced acidity.
The 2011 vintage Pinot Gris has come up extremely well given the cool and damp conditions the season presented. Grapes were harvested by hand in individual batches to select only the finest quality fruit and minimize losses due to the small tones grown. Hand picking occurred in early March from a single vineyard located in the Adelaide Hills region of Oakbank. The wine was crushed and fermented in stainless steel with a small amount receiving oak fermentation with frequent lees stirring. The wine was blended and bottled young whilst the flavours were at their freshest.
Cellaring Potential: Such a fresh wine is best enjoyed in the first one or two years after bottling.
Serving Suggestions: Enjoy with antipasto or richer food styles.
BOTTLE TOPS: STELVIN
