DESCRIPTION
'The Vale' is one of mine and Australia's favourite wine growing regions because we all know, the wine that hails from this area is some of the most delicious stuff your palate has ever experienced! Since John Reynell planted 500 vine cuttings all those years ago, McLaren Vale has become somewhat legendary in the international wine circles for Shiraz, it is the flagship of the region, said by many to be the best in the world. I've gotta tell you, as usual I was not disappointed, not one little bit... I've brought home a little souvenir for you all to have a little taste of what I mean when I say EPIC! A premier NORMANS PREMIUM BIN LABEL in the Normans Bin Label C163 McLaren Vale Shiraz 2010 was brought out over lunch down the local pub and shared between some of the regions finest palates, I was so impressed (and a little under the weather after a few bottles) we decided to take the lot.
Normans Wines is one of the oldest and most respected family names in Australian winemaking. Since 1853, when Jesse Norman planted his first vines in Adelaide, Normans Wines has developed a reputation for premium award winning Australian wines. Normans Wines is one of Australia's founding winemakers.
The Bin Range reflects the bin numbers at the Old Clarendon Winery where Normans have produced so many epic wines throughout the years, with the company’s commitment to the tradition of fine wine making.
Sourced from premium vineyards located in the iconic McLaren Vale region of South Australia. The fruit was picked over a four-week period, which ensures blending options for more complex finished wine. The individual parcels were fermented in stainless steel open top fermenters, macerated on skins for seven days before being pressed then aged with a mixture of French and American oak. The wines were allowed to spontaneously undergo malolactic fermentation and were kept in individual batches until final blending.
Deep purple in colour. Rich aromas of plums, blueberries, fruitcake with hints of black olive and subtle wood spices. A full bodied, rich and fleshy style that has soft supple tannins that support the black fruit flavours.
