This stylish McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from premium low yielding old vines McLaren Vale vineyards from vines with an average age of 60 years old. The Chais Clarendon range of wines are very much the benchmark of the Normans Wines range and have an enviable history of trophies and gold medals the world over since 1982.
The new 2006 vintage backs up the reputation of previous vintages which have picked up awards and reviews the world over including Australia's premier wine writer James Halliday saying "The quality of the Chais Clarendon range is exemplary."
Only the finest of premium Cabernet Sauvignon were aged in the finest of new and aged French oak for a period of 18 months.
An amazing bouquet of liquorice, spice and deep red cherries combine to produce intense an intense aroma. Spicy French oak adds complexity. The palate shows elegance and length with dark plum fruit and cashew, smokey oak. There is a lot of complexity of flavours and mid palate richness. The fineness and length of this wine
gives it long cellaring potential and we feel it will improve over
the next 4 to 7 years.
