"An Elegant red, with power, acidity and black berry flavors curling around a structured core of dark tannins. This cool Touriga, very poised, worth aging for two years, with a delicious spicy aftertaste."
Best Buy 2009
"The wine is very new but it is already shown in good form, with the floral notes of the Touriga Nacional quite discreet, what doesn't stop being positive. There is a ripe fruit but alive that it gives to the aroma the attractive tone that it presents. Elegant and very fine in the mouth, full and involving, with a creamy sensation intensificated by the very slight smoked of the wood, and a beautiful acid freshness, it's a red very expressive with a long and spicy end of tasting."
In Revista de Vinhos; November 2009
"A powerful, complex, delicious and smoked wine, with notes of wild aroma, finishing intense, elegant and tasty."
Divinum Black Wine Magazine.
The sheer amount of recommendations and distinguished wine show awards this producer have won over the years, just goes to show the consitency in their winemaking practices and the high quality of the grapes they are producing in the first place.
In the wine magazine Divinum Black of November of 2009, the editors appreciate Grand'Arte National Touriga 2008 -
"A powerful, complex, delicious and smoked wine, with notes of wild aroma, finishing intense, elegant and tasty."
The GRAND'ARTE Touriga Nacional red 2008 was selected by Revista de Vinhos. Here’s the editors’ tasting note:
"A very expressive red. The wine is very new but it shows already in good shape, with the floral notes of the Touriga very discreet, which actually it's very positive. There's matured fruit but alive giving to the aroma the attractive colour presented. Elegant and very fine in the mouth, full and attractive, with a creamy texture more present due to the light smoke from the oak wood, and a beautiful freshness acid, it's a red very expressive with a long end peppery tasting." -

Touriga Nacional is a variety of red wine grape, considered by many to be Portugal's finest. Despite the low yields from its small grapes, it plays a big part in the blends used for ports, and is increasingly being used for table wine in the Douro and Dão. Touriga Nacional provides structure and body to wine, with high tannins and concentrated flavours of black fruit. Jancis Robinson has compared its relationship with Touriga Francesa to the partnership between Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the former providing structure, the latter filling out the bouquet.
Born and raised on a wine and vineyard estate that many historians deem one of the longest established in the council of Alenquer and whose origins stretch back prior to the founding of the nation of Portugal - the Quinta de Porto Franco. It is from the excellence of this estate that José Neiva Correia, now 59 years of age and one of the most productive winemakers in the country, sources much of the raw material put into producing the very best DFJ Vinhos wines.
Descending from generations dedicated to the art of viniculture, both on his father's and his mother's sides, José Neiva Correia followed in his family's traditions not only out of preference but also with thorough professionalism. Those who know and work with him make regular mention of his creativity and the enthusiasm that goes into each of his many and sharply differing wines with their blend of improbable grape varieties and surprising results.
Rich, vibrant and intensely fruity red with juicy black fruit & spicy flavours.
Classic fermentation method with destemming and pre fermentative skin contact followed of the application of dry yeasts. Fermentation
up to 30º C in the first 2/3, and lowering down to 20º C during the last 1/3. During the whole fermentative process, pumping over 2 times per
day, using each time half of the volume contained in the vat.
After the alcoholic fermentation, the cap is plunged for 30 days, and during that period, extraction of the gentle tannins is conducted, along
with the malolactic fermentation and the natural stabilization of the wine.
Wine is aged in French oak barrels from Seguin Moreau of 225 Lt for 6 months. The wine only goes to consumer after 3 month of ageing in the
bottle.
