DESCRIPTION
Revolution Shiraz is the project of 6th generation winemaker, Corrina Rayment. It is an expression of the new generation modern, cutting edge and full of flavour.
Rayment is a progressive thinker and likes to take risks. Revolution looks to provide the consumer with the best aspects of McLaren Vale (texture, suppleness and intensity) delivered at a reasonable price, and packaged in an innovative way.
The grapes for Revolution come from the Seaview sub-region of McLaren Vale. The vines produce voluptuous, flavour packed and rich fruit, perfect for the Revolution style. The vines are hand pruned, machine picked and cropped at around 3 tonnes per acre.
What the press have to say about it....
91 Points, The Wine Advocate, Issue 181, Feb 2009
“Opaque ruby. Inky cherry and blackberry scents are given depth by espresso, dark chocolate and smoked meat. Ripe, dense and chewy, with weighty cassis and plum flavors. Takes a dry turn on the finish, showing solid tannins and a
slow-mounting kirsch quality. Give this brooding Shiraz some air of you're opening it any time soon.“
Josh Raynolds, July/Aug 08
"Another wine by Corrina Rayment, this Shiraz is a good bargain. Its complex melody of flavors - blueberries, mushrooms and cured meats - makes it a weighty, plush yet balanced mouthful."
Excellent. Epicurean Food and Wine Guide.
