DESCRIPTION
In 1893 four distinguished South Australian businessmen established Leasingham wines. A one time jam factory became it's first cellars, as the regions first orchards gave way to vineyards.
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is vibrant with rich dark red crimson hues. The bouquet is lifted and aromatic with classic cedar, blackcurrant and chocolate mint flavours. The palate is a mirror image of the bouquet, enhanced by sweet rich flavours of dry herbs, olive and vanillin oak. An elegant wine supported by fine tannins and lively acidity.
The months leading up to the 2009 vintage were challenging in the vineyard as once again drought and severe heat waves leading up to harvest impacted grape development resulting in reduced yields especially in vineyards without supplementary water. As vintage commenced the conditions became cooler allowing the healthy canopies to continue ripening and develop the intense and vibrant flavours associated with premium Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
