Tasting Notes:

This is our Flagship wine, our classic full-flavoured Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit sourced from our 'Killian Vineyard' centrally located in Coonawarra. The mature cabernet block is narrow-row planted, producing lower yields of intense ripe fruit.

Technical:

Matured in new French oak hogsheads for 22 months, the wine exhibits a complex but firm tannin structure and ripe fruit characters. The wine has excellent fruit concentration, good palate weight and an elegant nose.
This wine has been bottle aged in a temperature-controlled environment since bottling for release as a museum wine.

"Aromas of black and red berry, licorice, tar, earth, spices and cedar vanilla oak with a touch of eucalypt. Splendidly dark savoury smelling wine built on a base of ripe sweet fruit. On the palate medium to full bodied with black and red berry fruit, tar, earth and spicy oak. Dry fine grained powdery tannins and fresh crisp acidity. Tight and balanced. Finishes with savoury tobacco flavours. A beautiful and very refined cabernet."

Rated 4 out of 5 by Red Dog from Nicely Aged Cabernet Nice Brick Red colour......Again a mature wine that needs to be Decanted due to it's age and some sediment.....Nice aged nose, maybe more fruit than oak, a bit dusty and musty, but still pleasant. For me the fruit dominance transfers to the palate with a nice lengthy finish where the oak blends in......A smooth and mature Cabernet, a bit like myself, past it's peak, but still has a bit to offer! Still got 4 of the 6 left, but they will be enjoyed in the short term......Again, a wine for the young ones to experience.....An Oldie, but a Goodie.
