DESCRIPTION
"From three vineyards, respectively planted in the 1880s (Nuriootpa), 1926 (Greenock) and 1929 (Eden Valley), the wine spending 28 months in new French oak; it is plush and full-bodied, the oak as obvious as expected, but curiously seems to tone down the impact of the alcohol, the lingering tannins on the finish likewise. Screw cap."

Now this is one spectacular wine! The colour is dense red-black with a glisten in the glass. The nose is layered with plums, aniseed, mocha, chocolate and a gentle softness which runs over into the full palate layered with a great mouth feel and a superb balance of quality French oak. The tannins leave the palate dry at the end and the flavours linger on and on.
The fruit is drawn from three ancient vineyards, in equal ratios from Eden Valley Block planted in 1929, Greenock block planted in 1926, and Nuriootpa Block planted in 1882. The blend of these three has given some cool notes with big ripe plums and spice to back it all up. The fruit is cropped at about 3/4 tonne per acre and the berries were very small with intense black fruits when picked. Small in size but huge in flavour and it is the combination of these three blocks that has derived this magnificent wine we are very proud of.
Aged in New French oak for 30 months to impart a wonderful backbone of tannins. The balance is awesome with a velvety texture and long lingering palate.
