We have managed to get our hands on some more stock of MY FAVOURITE RED WINE AND THE BEST RED WINE IN AUSTRALIA UNDER $10 in the Gotham McLaren Vale Shiraz 2008. In our first shipment of the new 2008 vintage we sold over 50,000 bottles and have been blown away with the quality once again. This is on the back of last years 2007 vintage which we sold over 60,000 bottles.
Gary Walsh from Winorama recently tasted it and reviewed it with a score of 90 points and described it as "plump and soft with fine grained tannin and a juicy finish - a crowd pleasing showy style delivering a big bang per buck."
The new 2008 vintage of my favourite red wine Gotham McLaren Vale Shiraz 2008 has just been released and BOY does this wine punch way above its weight. Last year when we promoted the 2007 vintage we SOLD 60,000 BOTTLES IN A FORTNIGHT and have been inundated since about when the new 2008 vintage will be hitting our warehouse. Well alas it has just been bottled and when I showed a few of my wine toff mates they were blown away!! The boys were straight on the phone ringing mates all over Australia to ensure they didn’t miss out this year. "A ripe sweet hit of cherry and plum fruit backed with toasty/charry vanilla oak and plenty of pepper and spice. Full bodied and richly fruited - sweet but toned down by a sort of meaty peppered steak and mocha oak flavour. The fruit for this outstanding wine was sourced from 4 different premium vineyards in McLaren Vale and produced by Bruce Clugston and one of McLaren Vale's leading winemakers who has won numerous awards and gained international press over many years including receiving high 95+ point ratings from the world’s most influential wine writer Robert Parker Jr.
Barrel fermented and aged in new American oak the wine has well integrated oak and excellent balance, concentrated flavours while maintaining velvety mouth feel and finesse. Gob smacking fruit will have you tasting the wine long after it is gone. Deep dense dark and brooding in colour with a stunning rim of purple/red in the glass. The nose is hedonistic with rich ripe plums and loads of primary spices including fennel, black pepper, with mocha and coffee highlights. The palate is unctuous with superb velvet tannins and incredible intense length. Big and rich, yet soft and silky with beautiful plums, coffee, vanilla and fennel all lingering around the mouth for ages. Mouth watering! A PURE TREAT TO BEHOLD. STOCK UP THE CELLAR FAST..
