Black as the night with purple flashes. Dark fruits, which are, lavish and up front with toasty oak. A big old style of Shiraz with a modern twist with some sweet cherry and blackberry flavours provided great length and complexity derived from notes of black olive, liquorice and pepper. Well balanced fruit and oak give the wine great structure and polished yet complex tannins finish the wine with poise and grace.
Sourced from two vineyards in the Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat sub regions of McLaren Vale. The wine was crushed then it was fermented in small open top stainless steel fermenters to retain concentrated fruit flavours derived from extended time on skins. To complete the fermentation process and maturation the wine went into mostly 2 years old American oak barrels for a period of 12 months. The use of American oak allowed toasted oak characters to infiltrate the highly concentrated fruit flavour creating a well balanced yet complex tannin structure.

"Impressive depth of reserved blueberry fruit on the nose, vibrant and juicy. Succulent palate with juicy acidity and good tannic structure, pure berry flavours on a long elegant finish. A great wine, very well made."
