The "Barrel Reserve" Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Shiraz Cleanskin 2009 is made from grapes which were grown in a single vineyard located at the heart of the Barossa Valley in the area known as the valley floor, which lays around 200 metres above sea level.
This Barossa Shiraz is big black berry fruit aromas of mulberry, plum and blackberry and interwoven hints of oak. "Barrel Reserve" Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Shiraz Cleanskin 2009 illustrates exactly how well this wine has been handcrafted as a premium red wine. The grapes from this vineyard block over many years has produced intense black berry fruit flavours with obvious characters of this vintage being plum, blackberries and mulberries. Both American and French oak were used and this allows flavour to infiltrate the wine without over powering it and to run seamlessly into the natural tannin structure of the wine.
CELLARING:
Superb drinking now but will just get better with careful cellaring until 2014.
